Founded in Montreal in May 2008, Baratanga has for mission  to be the benchmark for excellence in percussion shows, activities, corporate team buildings and recreational activities for the general public.

The company specializes in the production of percussion shows and rhythmical workshops  in corporate, social, educational, after-school and community settings. Ranging from Team building to festivals or end of the year show for schools, Baratanga will produce percussion events that suits your needs.

The company stands by the expertise of its founder Louis-Daniel Joly, former artist for Cirque du Soleil.

Louis-Daniel Joly is now a leading international expert in interactive percussion activity and pedagogy of teaching of percussion.

Louis-Daniel Joly’s career as a percussionist began in the 1980s and in 1998, he became the first percussionist ever to receive a baccalaureate degree in Latin and popular percussion in Quebec from the university UQAM.

Following a national career as a freelancer, he joined Cirque du Soleil in 2000 where he performed a series of more than 2300 performances as an artist-musician. Following his return to eastern Canada in 2008, he obtained the title of “International Drum Circle Facilitator”, certification presented by REMO Inc., one of the largest companies in the industry of percussion and will follow the creation of his company: Productions Baratanga.

Since 2007 years, he presented more than 150 conferences and training about interactive percussion activities to musicians, music therapists, school teachers and students.

Having produced more than a hundred team building activities, he is more and more called to produce workshops and team building activities for major industries and business in Canada.

He obtained a master’s degree in management from HEC Montréal.


Our team consists of the best artists and percussionist in Quebec and they are selected according to criteria of excellence and professionalism.
All members and freelancers from Baratanga have to labour code: respect, punctuality, humour, professionalism and perfectionism.

    SKILLS LEGISLATION (Loi 90 ou du 1%)

    Training presented by Baratanga are admissible for the « Commission des partenaires du marché du travail” (formerly 1% law).

    This 1% bill, requires companies with a payroll exceeding one million dollars annually, to invest the equivalent of 1% of this salary mass in training for its employees.

    To ensure its sustainability, the company and its leaders must be able to mobilize their employees around the organization’s global vision and strategy.

    This investment in training may be eligible under the « Loi sur les compétences ».
